About your Massage Therapist

Hi, my name is Savannah. I’m a born and raised Minnesotan and graduated with my degree in massage therapy in 2019. I spent my first year out of school working at a chiropractic office where I specialized in helping car accident and sport injury victims, and this is where I gained the foundation of my understanding for the connection between pain symptoms and their oftentimes unexpected sources. One of my greatest takeaways was that therapeutic work should work, meaning that there should be measurable as well as reported improvement from the patient starting from the first session. If that’s not the case, something needs to change to make that the case.

It was also during this time that I was sorting through my own set of severe whiplash injuries related to a car accident I experienced earlier that year, which ultimately took a year of recovery but only after three years in search of the source of my pain. Four years after the accident I was finally clear of major pain symptoms after finding and treating the root cause, hence where the name and mission for Root & Branch Wellness stems from.

All of the pain and recovery that I’ve experienced both personally as well as alongside clients is where my passion for health and relief is derived. I’ve juggled chronic health issues for over a decade, and as hard as that’s been I wouldn’t trade my circumstances for anything else because of all that I’ve learned and have been able to offer for others on similar journeys. I want to help, and I am anything if not persistent.

Alongside car accident and sport injuries, I also specialize in pregnancy massage, deep tissue, and myofascial release/trigger point therapy, and I’m very passionate about educating clients on how to best maintain their relief after sessions. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in Wisconsin and Iowa, and once Minnesota offers state-wide licensing I will obtain that as well. My areas of interest and reading outside of massage include neuropathy, neuroscience, oral/maxillary development, the gut-brain axis, and the mind-body connection. Each of these fields of learning continue to inform my practice as a massage therapist and wholistic health advocate.

Besides massage and wellness, my time is spent building our home, collecting stamps for my passport, tattooing my bible, refining my photography skills, going swing, salsa, and bachata dancing, developing our backyard garden, and sewing/altering my own clothes. I’m in love with and married to a very cool and capable man, Eli, who joins in on and helps bring my many visions to life, and we have a very good dog, Yogi, who also loves to join in on our ventures. We have a blue house, a brown fence, and a happy life altogether :)
